We start 2021 by announcing our incorporation into the Passivhaus Consortium, an association whose objective is to promote the development and use of almost zero consumption buildings (ECCN).

At KÖMMERLING we have been promoting change in the Special Data  construction sector for years , in which energy efficiency and sustainability prevail, thus impacting both the well-being of the user and the planet. A change that The EECN-Passivhaus Consortium also pursues .

Walking in the same direction , committed to sustainability and the environment , has made us join as new partners to this conglomerate of which large leading companies in the sector are already part. Entities that, like KÖMMERLING, are committed to highly energy efficient constructions.

United with the same objective: high efficiency
The Passivhaus Consortium has as associates different manufacturers of construction solutions. Products that allow us to obtain buildings with almost zero consumption. And on this path towards a highly efficient building stock, KÖMMERLING could not be missing, leaders in the manufacture of high-performance PVC window systems.

Windows are one of the most important elements of a home when it comes to obtaining a good level of insulation and energy efficiency. Reason why, in order to build EECN and Passivhaus , it is necessary to have high-performance enclosures . A good window will reduce our energy consumption and, therefore, also CO 2 emissions into the atmosphere.



In this sense, KÖMMERLING systems offer levels of insulation and airtightness that exceed those required by regulations and EECN projects. In fact, we also have a Passivhaus certified version of the KÖMMERLING76 MD Xtrem system and there are several Passivhaus projects that already have our systems.

Sustainability and environment
The associates of the Passivhaus Consortium not only seek to promote the EECN, but also to promote this change towards a more efficient and sustainable society from our own organizations . At KÖMMERLING this is reflected in our Sustainable Development Program , which includes different actions such as our recycling policy, obtaining the EPD for several of our products, environmental certifications , etc.
